Is NBA 2K21 Better Than 2K20?

The first noticeable changes involve the shot stick. The shot stick this year places a little more focus on accuracy and timing by having the shot meter closer to the sweet spot when you pull down on the stick. With this, you get much faster and accurate releases making it much easier when you attempt to shoot. The shot stick also places a focus on character positioning, body movement, and angles when you're shooting, so if you're poorly positioned your shot will be bad. Unlike the button, which is press it, shoot it, the shot stick wants to give you that simulated feel of a shot, so if you're able to really practice with the shot stick you'll be tough to beat and even tougher for defenders trying to stop your shot. You can still use the button and play the more traditional way but if you won't say you're good at this game then learn to master the shot stick. It is difficult to master but it pays dividends long term. Some will like it and some won't but 2K put some work into making it better.

Everything about movement feels smoother. The biggest highlight is the dribbling. It feels as if the handcuffs have been removed from the user, and some truly impressive and gratifying moves are available with some skill required.

Edition

What's also new is the Kobe Mamba Forever Edition. With the loss of one of the greatest basketball players ever to touch a basketball in Kobe Bryant, it was befitting that the team over at 2K games place a focus on Kobe and really make this game a piece of historic basketball nostalgia as opposed to just a game. This is especially true if you purchased a physical copy.

The Visuals

NBA 2K21 offers a fast loading time. In MyCareer mode of NBA 2K20, the game loading time was slow but in NBA 2K21 game loading time is quite faster. The cinematic scenes are amazing due to visual upgrades as graphics & animations are more realistic to the eyes. NBA 2K21 also launches on next-gen consoles, so the graphical fidelity has received a boost due to next-gen hardware.

A few players have updated renders, including legends like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

The 2K Beach Neighborhood is pleasing to the eye. It's mostly just a cosmetic difference, but the design is strong.

Game Modes

Several modes are available in NBA 2K21 & NBA 2K20 such as MyCareer mode, MyTeam mode, MyGM mode & MyLeague, etc. In NBA 2K21, Those modes are significantly improved.

1). MyTeam

In NBA 2K20 there were limited positions in MyTeam mode to whatever was featured on their card. It means that if a player's card said he was a PF, then he had to be on the court, & every lineup had to include 1 player at the 5 basketball positions (PG, SG, SF, PF, & C). So this controversial choice was a constraint for a player. In the new game, this controversial choice impact is reduced as there are the top cards fit for 2 positions.

The Seasons approach overall is exactly what the Mode needs to keep it fresh and to better establish goals for the user.

Domination has new depth, and it also benefits from the Seasons concept.

MyTeam Limited

The new MyTeam Limited mode isn't exactly what the feature needed in the way of a structured and restricted concept (that would have been a salary cap option) but it's fun and exciting nonetheless.

However, it's much easier to get rewards including NBA 2K21 MT, VC, tokens, and cards in MyTeam.

2). MyCareer

NBA 2K21 has a further enhanced top-end MyCareer mode which is different from NBA 2K20. The narrative of this story campaign mode is captivating. You can start an adventure that takes you to the top. This mode looks better than the previous one.

3). MyLeague/MyGM

There is a nice new feature added to MyLeague. The MyLeague Scenario share allows you to upload challenges for the community or simply facilitates the sharing of the fantasy season experience. This wasn't advertised before the game's release, but it is something valuable to users who play MyLeague.

In the latest game WNBA mode allows gamers to play all 12 WNBA teams in the NBA 2K21 exhibition mode.

NBA 2K21 is different from NBA 2K20 due to many improvements incorporated in the new game as it provides high-quality graphics & gameplay, online features, & immersive, different modes. It's an updated version of NBA 2K20! It is a worthy pickup for their hardcore fans and noobs that love basketball.
