New MyTeam Features In NBA 2K21

In the past five years, MyTeam has become an important part of the NBA 2K league. More and more players are willing to spend a lot of time in MyTeam to participate in NBA 2K games. These players will be happy to know that there will be a lot of new features to be added in NBA 2k21 MyTeam.

MyTeam across generations

2K has announced that NBA 2K21 MyTEAM current gen-progression will carry over to next-gen consoles included in the same family of systems.

This means all progress made in MyTEAM can be carried over from PS4 to PS5 and Xbox One to Xbox Series X. This also includes VC, pulled cards, and Tokens.

MyTeam Promo packs

For those of you pre-ordering your copy of NBA 2K21 through the PlayStation Store, it has some really cool packs in store for you!

1). With the purchase of any edition of the game through the PlayStation Store, you'll receive two free MyTeam promo packs.

2). PlayStation Plus members will also receive three MyTeam promo packs per month for 10 months! That's 30 packs for those of you counting at home.

3). Pre-ordering the Standard Edition of NBA 2K21 alone grants you 10 free Promo Packs, allocated at one pack per week.

4). If you decide to go with the Mamba Forever edition, you will be granted 40 free Promo Packs, allocated as 10 on the first day you play, and then three per week for the next 10 weeks.

Seasons & seasonal content

MyTeam is introducing the Seasons concept which will last roughly six weeks and will dictate the launch of new content in the mode throughout the life cycle of NBA 2K21. Seasons will be free to participate in all MyTeam players.

There were two main objectives with MyTeam Seasons:

1). New prizing updates across most modes every Season.

2). Add something NEW to the mode every Season. Some Seasons will add new content for you to play (think something like Spotlight Sims), while other Seasons may add new features to the game, or add a rewarding twist that you will be chasing all Season.

During the Season, you will be working to complete Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal-based Agendas. As objectives are completed, you will earn XP that will be used to raise your Season Level. Every time you level up, you will earn a reward. Reaching the final level within a Season earns you the grand prize for the Season.

MyTeam Limited

One of the new features that have been announced for NBA 2K21 is the addition of MyTEAM Limited.

This brand-new Mode will run from Friday-Sunday each week and will allow players the opportunity to unlock some top tier cards. It will be a new weekend game mode that will restrict roster building in different ways, balancing the playing field and introducing more strategy to MyTEAM.

MyTeam Unlimited 2.0

MyTEAM Unlimited is back in NBA 2K21 but revamped! It will consist of 9 leagues you need to play through before you can reach the top!

The Exchange

Another new feature to MyTEAM: The Exchange. Now you can trade in cards you aren't using for cards that will become staples in your starting lineup, everything has value in MyTEAM for NBA2K21.

New cards will be added to the Exchange board every Season.

Some of the cards you get from the Exchange will instantly be elite, and others will potentially mature to have more value in Limited. Each card you obtain from the Exchange will have a specific requirement level for the card you use to get it. You may have to trade an Eastern Conference center with a rating of 85 and above, etc.

Badge customization

Badge cards return, allowing you to add and upgrade Badges from Bronze to Hall of Fame. Also, it is taking the Evolution card concept to another level. Evolution cards now branch, giving players an opportunity to make new decisions that make their players unique.

Ascension

NBA 2K21 will have a new prize mechanism called Ascension. Here’s how it works:

There will be three vertical tiers of prizes. Each one contains cards that you can flip over to reveal a prize. On every tier, there is a card-present that will instantly take you to the next tier. The max prize will change every Season.

You'll only have a limited number of picks to use while you try to find the Ascension cards. Some of the cards will give you additional picks, but once you run out of picks, you get to keep the prizes (tokens, MT, free packs, etc) under the cards you have flipped.

IDOLS Replace PRIME Series Cards

MyTEAM's IDOL Series Collection will feature some of the NBA's most memorable players from both the past and the present. Spread across 15 special releases, the IDOLS Series will be THE premium pack collection to covet during NBA 2K21's MyTEAM run. The first pullable Pink Diamond card is coming this September.
