Indiana Pacers star Paul George is the NBA 2K17 Standard Edition cover athlete. He's a three-time All-Star and All-NBA selection and one of the game's best two-way players. He is also one of the NBA's best comeback stories, having returned to All-Star form after suffering a horrific leg injury during a 2014 Team USA scrimmage.

Appearing on the cover of NBA 2K17 should top off an all-around successful season for George. Still, George forced his way out of the franchise right after being granted this honor. He was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder and stood there for two seasons before being moved to the Clippers.

The four-time All-Star averaged a career-high 25.2 points per game during the regular season to go along with 5.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds. He has also been key in Cleveland's advancement to the NBA Finals. Irving entered Cavalier's lore forever when he hit what turned out to be the game-winning shot in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

All of a sudden, out of the blue, Kyrie Irving asked to be traded away from the Cleveland Cavaliers right after being selected to be the cover athlete for the 2018 edition. After that, Kyrie's move to the Boston Celtics. At last, he joins Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets.

NBA 2K19 – LeBron James

The cover athlete for "NBA 2K19 20th Anniversary Edition" is LeBron James, a three-time NBA champion and four-time NBA MVP. The cover will display the four-time MVP's face alongside phrases such as "Chosen One," "Strive for Greatness,”"Equality" and "G.O.A.T." penned in gold.

But throughout the season there were rumors that he wanted to leave the Cavaliers. And like everybody expected, James ended up signing with the Los Angeles Lakers to try and take the team back to their Championship-winning ways.
