NBA 2K21 Wishlist: A Series of New Features will Improve the Game

The NBA 2K series is the elite basketball sim on consoles currently, there's no doubt about that, but there is still room for improvement. So, NBA 2k21 May has some new features that further improve the game and make it more fun. Here's our NBA 2k21 wishlist of seven items that are more likely to make it into the game than any other.

NBA 2K21 Wishlist

A Kobe Bryant Tribute Mode

After Bryant's untimely passing in January, it seems almost impossible to imagine 2K's tribute to the deceased legend is over. They have honored him in-game with some digital murals, but nothing quite as grand as should be expected for this year's game when the team has had a chance to work on something more in-depth.

I'd expect to see some sort of Bryant tribute mode. A tribute mode for the late Kobe Bryant is a must. It could be a mode dedicated to his best career moments as challenges with special tribute rewards in Kobe's honor. Nonetheless, the Black Mamba deserves to be honored in the upcoming title and the community would certainly welcome it.

G-League Addition

NBA 2K20 brought the WNBA teams and players into the game for a historic addition. At the same time, Bryant was all about the promotion and advocacy of women's basketball. His daughter Gianna, who passed away with him in the tragic accident, was an excellent young player. I can see 2K seeking permission to use Gianna's influence and inspiration as a way to finally incorporate female MyPlayers into the game.

Adding G-League teams and rosters could bring more options for franchise mode or GM mode type gamers. Being able to move players from the G-League and use them in a specific Mode or two makes sense. A step was taken in NBA 2K20 with the inclusion of the WNBA; Female MyPlayers is the next stage, and Gianna would be a perfect inspiration.

Improved Servers

The biggest upgrade for a new NBA 2K title would be to improve server stability. This has been a continued complaint amongst the community. In particular, the MyLeague Online servers have been lacking and could really use a boost. If NBA 2K21 is to have a user-friendly and entertaining experience, it's a must to get these in working order.

Upgraded MyTeam Evolution (EVO)

In NBA 2K20 MyTeam, the EVO cards refer to special cards for players that are dynamic. They upgrade to better ratings based on completing in-game specifics such as scoring 50 points across games.

While this is nice, oftentimes MyTeam stops the card development at a certain level. Gamers end up frustrated at the time they put in. Nobody wants to put in the effort to upgrade an EVO card when a better card is going to drop in the future. Perhaps in NBA 2K21, they could continue the upgrades over the life of the card to the highest possible level.

MyTeam Draft Mode

NBA 2K20's version of MyTeam was the best feature has been since it was introduced. However, there is one area where it seems things are still lacking, and it is the absence of a draft mode.

Every other major sports video game series that has a collector mode has a draft option like MUT Draft, FUT Draft, and MLB The Show has Battle Royale. It's hard to imagine 2K would go another year without their own.

Introducing a Salary Cap Mode

Introducing a salary cap mode would be a gamechanger for MyTeam. NBA 2K21 would be a perfect version to bring the feature back, and next year around this time, when 2K begins to bring out tons of Galaxy Opal cards, there would be an option for more sim-style players to go within the mode.

The beauty of a salary cap feature is that it regulates the number of elite players you're allowed to have in an active lineup. Thereby, it forces the gamer to find value in lower-gem cards, and you could also argue this is a style that requires more skill, and overall knowledge of the mode.

Essentially, this is a lot more like real-life basketball, only you'd still get the fantasy twist that is the major draw of MyTeam.

Technical Fouls

I spoke with a 2K dev last year about this being added to the game and heard some encouraging feedback. My initial suggestion came to the team a little too close to the launch of NBA 2K20, but it seems logical that it might have been added to the list for NBA 2K21.

Essentially, the more emotional players and coaches who have registered the most technical fouls in real life would have the highest probability of drawing one in the game. Self-control and/or emotional rating would come into play whenever a call doesn't go their way. Depending on the situation, the chances of tech being called increases.

NBA 2K21 is about six months away, and we expect the seven new features to appear in the game. Also, click here to learn more about NBA 2k20 and buy mt NBA 2k20, cheap, fast, safe! It's the best place to buy NBA 2k20 mt, 5+ year professional experiences, great reputation in the market!
