NBA 2K22: Top 17 MyCareer Tips

The best way to get used to the 2K meta is to play MyCareer above all other game modes. But how to play well in NBA 2K22 MyCareer? Here, we list the top 17 MyCareer tips on how to find success.

MyCareer Tips

1. Build Smart

More than anything else, you should make your player in a build that you'll enjoy playing more than anything else. If you love going for the bucket all the time, build towards offense. If you prefer being in control of the court, make a player that'll excel in the middle of the action.

2. Customize Animations

Custom animations fundamentally make the player better. Things like Jumpshot, free throw, dribble style, and even dunks can all be tailored in-game to make your character unique.

3. Go For Quintuple Doubles Every Game

Blowing up for 30+ points is going to help the team. But so do the other four big stats like block shots, go for steals, crash the boards for rebounds, and assists. This will better role-playing experience and give the MyPlayer extra attribute totals toward higher stats and badges.

4. Don't Simulate Games

The simulated games will prove a terrible move in the long run. Aside from losing out on stats that count toward awards, this also doesn't reward currency or attribute increases.

5. Play The Seasonal Goals

Season

Each season will have unique equipment and cosmetics. The smart move is to check every season and list the desired bonuses to achieve.

6. Check The Quest Journal

Quests provide a reliable source of VC, experience, and rewards. Because the objective can be obscure, check the quest journal often for updates.

7. Highest OVR Gets The Starting Job

Those who want to start need their OVR to be higher than the starter on their team. Otherwise, even the league declaring the MVP to be the MyPlayer kept him on the bench.

8. Go To The Combine?

Unless you're incredibly impatient, it's ill-advised to skip the Combine. Performing well in the Combine drills can skyrocket your draft status to a much higher projection.

9. Play To Win And Increase Teammate Grade

There are only two priorities during the college portion of MyCareer: Winning and teammate grade. Victory matters partly for the story and partly because it gives the player more opportunities to have big games. After winning, the most important thing is to get that teammate's grade up as high as possible.

10. Earn that VC

VC

Everything tied to meaningful progression in the game is tied to VC (Virtual Currency). NBA games within MyCareer are a decent place to earn the elusive cash, and completing sponsorship challenges can help you out, too. It's also worth signing in to the game once per day to check on the Daily Spin – that can be easy VC.

11. Get Badges

Badges are as crucial in 2K as 2K22 MT; even if your overall rating is a bit lower than you'd like, you can still dominate higher-ranked players if you have a good set of Badges. Your progress towards badges every time you play a MyCareer game – so make those jump shots, gain possession, and unlock training drills to start making meaningful progress and getting these Badges to modify your stats.

12. Quit Before A Bad Play

One loss, and it's onto the draft. There is no way to restart a game or start it over in this campaign. So the smartest thing to do is, right before a blown play, quit and then re-enter.

13. Attend Every Practice

Amateur players sometimes skip practices, but skipping them is not intelligent. First off, each drill delivers a large lump sum toward badges. Second, skipping the plot and story means missing the banter between the player and the coach entirely.

14. Fine Tune The Settings

MyCareer has its settings and does not coordinate with the main menu settings. Every player starting a new career will need to adjust these settings before playing a game.

15. Know The Team

Players need to understand what their teammates can do. By knowing which players work best off a screen, who can shoot threes, and who can play interior defense, the MyPlayer can get more assists and defensive numbers.

16. Play To Player Strengths

Don't bother trying to be the best at everything when positions only require being good at specific skills. Can't dribble? Make a big man or a spot-up shooter. Can't time shots? Make a dunker. Can't swipe the ball? Make a blocker.

17. Test Builds First

There is no limit to making players, testing them out, and fine-tuning them. Once the MyCareer path is started, the path is locked in.
