NBA 2K23 – What We Know So Far

We all know that everyone is waiting for their chance to learn more about NBA 2K23. The good news is that we leak everything we know about the game, including the game's potential release date, cover star candidates, editions, demo, player rating predictions, PC requirements, and more.

Possible Release Date

The first NBA 2K22 trailer was released on July 14 of last year. Expect it to follow the same pattern this year. You can see the first NBA 2K23 trailer around that date (July 2022).

Possible Release Date

According to a leaker @2KIntel via Twitter, NBA2K23 will be released on September 16th of this year. It didn't specify which platform, but we know it is for the old models to be followed by next-gen consoles.

Possible Cover Athletes

These are the NBA 2K23 cover athletes that we have in mind for the Standard Edition version of the game:

1. Nikola Jokic
        • 2022 NBA Most Valuable Player
        • Averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game

2. Jayson Tatum
        • Averaged 26.9 points per game through the regular season
        • Led the Boston Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals
        • Was vital in eliminating the Milwaukee Bucks

3. Joel Embiid
        • Averaged over 30 points per game during the regular season
        • Averaged a double-double over the season
        • Shot just under 50% during the season.
        • Was a candidate for MVP but lost to Nikola Jokic

4. Stephen Curry (Longshot Prediction)
        • Broke the NBA record for most threes in a year (507)
        • Broke Ray Allen's record for most career threes
        • Became the first player ever with 3,000 three-pointers

Consoles

You can count on an NBA 2K23 release for current-generation platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch.

As of right now, you can also expect a release on Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, PS4, PS4 Slim, and PS4 Pro.

Editions

As usual, you can expect multiple versions of NBA 2K.

There are three versions of NBA 2K22. Each of these has different price points and a different set of bonuses. We could see 2K keep similar pricing for NBA 2K23.

Pre-Order

The NBA 2K23 pre-order window will debut in July 2022. There were four distinct versions of NBA 2K22 available, so expect a variety of bonuses for those who decide to buy before trying, such as MyTeam points and MyCareer skill boosts.

Will NBA 2K23 Have a Demo, Trial, or Early Access?

NBA 2K22 didn't have a demo, trial, or early access for players, and we'll probably see that continue with NBA 2K23.

Will We See NBA 2K23 Cross-play?

There's no suggestion that NBA 2K23 will incorporate cross-play. Consider cross-play more likely for NBA 2K24 than NBA 2K23.
